Industry expert Valerie M. Sargent teams up with Derrick A. Denis, Senior V.P. of Indoor Environmental Quality at Clark Seif Clark, Inc., to help you learn details you never knew about some of the biggest environmental issues that can impact your multifamily buildings. They will cover important concerns from asbestos, mold, and water intrusion to sewer gas, lead based paint, and fire (including structures, wildfire, vehicle, and lithium-ion battery). Do you understand sick building syndrome? You’ll learn about it here, along with proper HVAC maintenance recommendations and how to environmentally handle some aspects of hoarding/inappropriate storage. They will even discuss legionella, nuisance birds, and what happens if there has been fentanyl, meth, or clandestine drugs in one of your apartments. You may have never encountered some of these situations, but you certainly will at some point in your career. After participating in this eye-opening session, you will have best practices to take back to your community that will immediately improve the lives of your residents and employees.
