Join us for a PAA members and guest only LIVE webinar on The State of DE&I in America-August 28, 2024 from Noon - 12:45 pm. This LIVE webinar aims to explore the critical role of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) in today's workplace and society, delving into the risks and consequences if DE&I initiatives are diminished or eliminated. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of how DE&I has shaped more inclusive work environments and supported marginalized communities. By examining the history and development of DE&I—from civil rights legislation to the resurgence of DE&I commitments following the murder of George Floyd—participants will recognize the lasting contributions of DE&I and its impact on corporate America and beyond. The session will also address the politicization of DE&I, recent trends such as diversity fatigue, and the rollback of DE&I efforts in both corporate and educational settings. By the end of the session, participants will leave with actionable insights on how to advocate for and sustain DE&I within their own organizations and communities.
PRESENTER
Monica Frazier | General Manager at Midwood Investment & Development | Co-Chair PAA DE&I Standing Committee | Founder of Melanin In Multifamily
Monica Frazier, hailing from Pittsburgh, PA, brings over a decade of experience in residential and commercial management across multiple states. She fosters a sense of community and empowers Black professionals in the multifamily sector. Monica's dedication to the industry is further demonstrated through her active involvement in the National Apartment Association. Recognized as a 3 time NAA Excellence Award nominee, as well as graduate of the NAA 2023 Leadership Lyceum Class, Monica also leads the charge as a committee chair for the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee of her state apartment association. Her outstanding contributions were celebrated with the PAA's 2023 Property Manager of the Year Award and winner of the NAA IDEI Grant in 2023. Monica's expertise lies in training, employee development, and operational excellence.
